This was my first WWOOF stop a lovely little farm with 6 cows and loads of chooks and a few goats. it is owned by a lovely family of Peter, Jodi and there sons 2 and a half Sam and Dan. I start the day milking the cow which is pretty cool have got the skills to pay the bills apparently i got about 8 litres from marmalade the cow who is the only milking cow at the moment. then i get on with making the shop that is going to be outside there house i got to use the chainsaw and had to stop myself reenacting evil dead.. Im staying in a caravan which is nice as it has a fireplace and a good bed seeing has before that i had spent the last few nights outside its good to have somewhere to put your stuff. I also got to make loads of stuff like Yogurt, Custard, butter and of course the most important cheese we made feta and risotto and a hard cheese which was an experiment it was great fun and delicious as i had to make sure it was good for the people of the world. I now feel like i want to get a cow to travel with me they are so good and the milk is the best

WELCOME
Crazy hippies that is how i felt leaving this place it was awesome. I got to this place after meeting a lady in town who knew where it was as the man didn't have his phone on it was about 7k out from nimbin and was in a beautiful rain forest. they had a fresh spring which i was drinking water from every morning and loads of tropical plants i didn't know the names of. I still find it strange seeing banana trees around and there where plenty here. The house i was staying outside of as there was only a sofa outside on the porch was mostly sheet metal and some amazing french doors and windows for pauly's (owner) mums old house. There wasn't any electricity and it was lovely for that the a stars at night were fantastic as there was no light pollution. Pauly was this really nice guy who have a charming wife called fad and a baby called altlan. One of my first jobs was to help change the toilets which involved moving barrels of poo to a holes in the forest what a great time. We also when to a march to facking (gas mining) around the local area it was great fun and there was music, dancing and much merriment. there was a cool band called oka also got some stonking quotes from pauly my favourite was "love the striders brother they are butes". I also went to the weekly street drumming in nimbin 7 hours of drumming is a hell of a lot of drumming and he was going for it the whole time.

Escape from stanthorpe

cozy nights sleep

some crazy house i found

FARMING IS OVER lets make a banana and split. That is right im off on the road again the aim is to Nimbin for some crazy fun. This was my first attempt at hick hiking and it went very well got from stanthorpe to warick found out i went the wrong way so went past stanthrope to tenterfield with a guy who was driving to pick up a truck for his new wife. Then from tenterfield to lismore with a guy that i didn't talk to much as i fell asleep because he was really boring. and from there to nimbin with a car of french girls. altogether very successful. But once i got there i hadnt planned anything out and so wandered around till i found a camp site at this time it was pretty dark so i decided to set up the trusty hammock. All went well didn't fall out and didn't get bitten or have anything fall on my face made friends with a huntsman as he had made his home on my bag. then spent the next couple of days in the camp site(Rainbow retreat) and the town. meeting people a relaxing.

APPLE APPLE APPLE APPLE APPLE APPLE APPLE APPLE

tractor fun in the sun

loads of apples

room mascot Captain silver belly

all the gang

I head off to start my fun trip picking apples up at 5 pick apples for 8 hours then back to the hostel. that is about it but it was pretty damn fun anyhow lots of nice people crazy arguing Australians, swing from trees and all most falling off ladders are a normal thing when working. I also next though i would get to a point in my life where i hated parrots for eating apples but that day has come and they are annoying. I also get to drive a tractor which i think is really cool chugging along while kangaroos hop past funky i say. stanthorpe is a wild place 5 churchs 5 bottle shops(booze holes) and 5 pubs but that is it there is also a creek where you can swim which i manged to lose my glasses in jumping from a tree. the normal night is Omara's for 2 or 3 bottles of $8 dollar wine then when we get kicked out of there its on to central for karoke lucky you are drunk enough to sing after the start of the night. I also made kangaroo steaks which where pretty nice but not that different form  normal steak. its a good time and i have picked a lot of apples then bins are pretty big so i think in to the millions. i now have a stupid farmers tan line

Day at the zoo

Got the greyhound bus at 7:30 to wangle me a kangaroo at the zoo. An hour and a half later and we where there turns at Australia is pretty damn big. Started but hitting up some otters which are of course a funky critter bit to fast to get a good picture though which was annoying. Next it was on to the crocs and alligators I always think they look fake that is an till they move. There was some pretty big ones that look quite dangerous. Then it started raining and kept rain all day and this was very heavy and i didn't have a coat I got pretty wet but powered through lucky animals love rain and didn't hide away. I went to the show next and man do they love Steve Irwin it was pretty cheesy and but there was some good old crocs eating stuff. After that I went to stroke some kangaroos and koala which was pretty cool. Also saw the echidnas which are awesome they are like hedgehogs but with a longer nose after that saw some tigers, elephants, giraffe and other stuff it was a good day and apart form all the rain
